Is this practice right for me?

Carolina Integrative Medicine is designed for men and women who know something is off-even when conventional doctors say their labs are "normal." If you're experiencing chronic fatigue, unexplained weight gain, hormone imbalance, or simply don't feel like yourself anymore, and you're ready to invest in understanding why rather than just managing symptoms, this practice may be right for you.

We work with men and women who are committed to creating a legacy of health-not just for themselves, but for their families and the lives they want to lead. Our approach focuses on root-cause healing and bringing your body back into harmony with your life goals. This requires time, comprehensive testing, and personalized protocols that go beyond what insurance-based medicine can offer.

If you're looking for quick fixes or the lowest-cost option, we may not be the right fit. But if you're ready to invest in true optimization and long-term vitality, we'd love to explore whether we can help you achieve the transformation you're seeking.

What should I expect from my discovery call?

Your complimentary 15-20 minute discovery call is conducted via Zoom with our Wellness Outreach Coordinator. This is an opportunity for us to hear your story, understand your primary health concerns, and determine if our approach aligns with what you're looking for.

We'll discuss your symptoms, health goals, and what you've already tried. This isn't a sales call-it's a genuine conversation to see if we're the right partners for your health journey. We'll explain our process, answer your initial questions, and if it feels like a good fit, we'll schedule your lab work and initial consultation.

Think of this as the first step in creating harmony between where you are now and where you want to be.

What should I expect at my initial consultation?

Your initial consultation is a comprehensive 90-120 minute appointment where we dive deep into your health story. Unlike the rushed appointments typical in insurance-based medicine, we take the time to truly understand you-your symptoms, your medical history, your life stressors, and your goals for the future.

By the time of your consultation, we'll have already drawn your labs (based on what we discussed during your discovery call). During the appointment, we'll review your lab results together, connect the dots between your symptoms and your biochemistry, and create a personalized treatment plan designed to address root causes-not just mask symptoms.

This is where the real detective work happens. We're looking for the underlying imbalances that have been stealing your energy, disrupting your hormones, and keeping you from feeling like yourself. Our goal is to help you understand your body in a completely new way and create a roadmap for sustainable healing and optimization.

How does your new-patient process work?

Our process is designed to be thorough, personalized, and aligned with your schedule:

Step 1: Discovery Call (15-20 minutes, complimentary, virtual) We listen to your story, discuss your health concerns, and determine if we're the right fit for your goals.

Step 2: Lab Work (1-2 weeks after discovery call) Based on your unique situation, we'll order comprehensive testing. Labs can be drawn in-house at our office or outsourced if you're not local to our South Carolina location.

Step 3: Initial Consultation (3-4 weeks after discovery call, 90-120 minutes) We review your complete lab results, discuss your symptoms and medical history in depth, and create your personalized treatment plan. This is where we map out your path to healing and optimization.

Step 4: Implementation & Ongoing Support Depending on your treatment plan, we'll work together to bring your body back into balance through hormone optimization, nutritional support, lifestyle modifications, and other targeted therapies.

This timeline allows us to gather the comprehensive data we need to truly understand what's happening in your body-because sustainable transformation requires more than guesswork.

Do you offer virtual or telehealth visits?

Yes! We offer telehealth visits for patients in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Your discovery call and initial consultation can both be conducted virtually via Zoom, and many follow-up appointments can also be done remotely.

For lab work, if you're not local to our Clemson office, we can arrange for testing to be done at a location convenient to you. Our goal is to make comprehensive, root-cause medicine accessible regardless of where you live within our licensed states.

Virtual care doesn't mean compromised care-you'll receive the same thorough, personalized approach whether you're sitting in our office or joining us from home.

Do you accept insurance, bill insurance companies, or offer payment plans?

We do not accept insurance or bill insurance companies, and here's why this actually serves you better:

Insurance-based medicine operates on a disease-management model, not an optimization and prevention model. Insurance companies reimburse for 15-minute appointments, standardized protocols, and treating diagnosed diseases-not for the 90-120 minute consultations, comprehensive functional testing, and root-cause work that creates real transformation.

By operating outside the insurance system, we have the freedom to:

  • Spend the time needed to truly understand your unique health story
  • Order the advanced testing that reveals root causes (testing that insurance often denies or doesn't cover)
  • Use cutting-edge treatments and therapies that may not yet be "standard of care" but are evidence-based and effective
  • Work directly with you as partners, without a third party dictating what we can and cannot do
  • Focus on optimization and prevention, not just disease management
  • We do offer payment plans to make this investment in your health more manageable. Think of this as an investment in your future self-in the energy, vitality, and harmony you need to create the legacy you want to leave.

We understand this is a shift from traditional healthcare, and we're happy to discuss how this model can work for you during your discovery call.

How do lab tests work, and what types of testing do you use?

Lab testing is the foundation of our root-cause approach. We don't guess-we test. And we don't just run "standard" panels that tell us if you're sick enough for a diagnosis. We run comprehensive functional testing that reveals the underlying imbalances keeping you from optimal health.

Our testing approach typically includes:

  • Comprehensive hormone panels (including sex hormones, adrenal function, and thyroid)
  • Functional blood work to assess nutritional levels, inflammation, metabolic function, and more
  • Food sensitivity testing to identify hidden inflammatory triggers
  • Advanced testing when indicated, such as comprehensive stool analysis, microbiome assessment, and intestinal barrier function (leaky gut testing)
  • How it works: After your discovery call, we'll determine which tests are most important for your unique situation. Labs can be drawn in-house at our Clemson office or arranged at a location convenient to you if you're not local. Your lab appointment and 90-120 minute initial consultation will be scheduled at the time of the discovery call.

We're not looking for "normal" lab values-we're looking for optimal function. This is how we identify the imbalances that conventional medicine often misses, and it's the key to creating a treatment plan that addresses root causes rather than just managing symptoms.
